Proposta di legge per l’istituzione della “ Connecticut Italian-American Heritage Commission” nello stato del Connecticut

LeagueDue legislatori del Connecticut, il senatore Ryan Fazio del 36 ° distretto del Senato statale e il deputato Chris Aniskovich del 35 ° distretto della camera, introducono la proposta di legge n. 1162 per far istituire la “ Connecticut Italian-American Heritage Commission.”
Il disegno di legge, redatto in collaborazione con la IADL ( Italian American Defense League), il Comitato per il Commercio statale e il il Connecticut Council of American Italian Organization, mira a creare una commissione dedicata alla preservazione, alla promozione e protezione del patrimonio italiano e italo-americano in tutto lo Stato, compreso, ma non limitato a, sviluppare programmi culturali ed educativi e preservare alcuni siti culturali e storici nello stato.
“ La nuova legge riguarda il riconoscimento e la celebrazione del vivace patrimonio degli italoamericani in Connecticut.” Ha detto Matteo Guarnieri, presidente della IADL - Italian American Defense League, sottolineando che la Commissione svolgerà un ruolo fondamentale nell'educare le generazioni future, assicurandosi che la cultura e I contributi degli italoamericani rimangono parte integrante dell'identità del nostro stato.
Guarnieri ha concluso diendo: "l’istituzione di questa commissione sara’ un passo significativo per preservare il patrimonio culturale degli italoamericani in Connecticut, esamineremo la nostra comunità e tutti coloro che apprezzano i contributi della civiltà occidentale alla nostra società, stare insieme e sostenere questa importante iniziativa."
La IADL Italian American Defense League e Connecticut Council of American Italian Organizations incoraggiano tutti a contattare i membri del Comitato Commercio e i legislatori dello stato e chiedere per il loro supporto per questa proposta di legge Bill n.1162 all’Assemblea Generale del Connecticut.
La missione della IADL Italian American Defense League è di promuovere l'istruzione, ritrarre italiani in modo positivo e preservare le tradizioni e combattere la discriminazione contro gli italiani e le persone di tutti i gruppi etnici e di tutte le razze. Recentemente la IADL ha formalmente depositato un ricorso alla Corte d'appello degli Stati Uniti per il secondo circuito contro la citta’ di New Haven e il sindaco di New Haven Justin Elicker per la rimoziome della statua di Cristoforo Colombo nel 2020, con l'appoggio di alcuni leaders italo americani, altri politicamente connessi e politici locali tra cui la deputata federale Rasa De Lauro che il 25 giugno 2020 rese pubblica la sua opinione di rinunciare al suo sostegno alla statua di Columbus.
