STOCKHOLM - On November the 3rd, the celebration of the Day of Unification of Italy and the Armed Forces took place at the Embassy of Italy in Stockholm.
The event, organized in the residence of Ambassador Vinicio Mati together with the Military Attaché, Colonel Stefano Silvestrini, was attended by high representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Swedish military authorities, the military attachés of the other accredited Embassies in Sweden, exponents of the world of defense and military industry as well as the Italian community in Stockholm.
Mati - reports the Embassy - in his welcome speech recalled the significance of the Day, which in Italy is commemorated on November the 4th, in the history of the Unification of Italy, and highlighted the importance of the intense collaboration between Italy and Sweden also in the area of the Armed Forces, destined to play an increasingly important role in the light of Sweden's decision to join NATO. In this context, the common commitment was also mentioned to guarantee the necessary support for Ukraine and its people at this time of serious difficulties.
Colonel Silvestrini, on his side, recalled the commitment of the Armed Forces abroad and in Italy to safeguard security by creating the conditions, in all circumstances, for greater stability and peace among peoples.
