London - The international tour of the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG continues with upcoming stages in Australia and the United Kingdom, following its successful run in the United States.
Australia will host five tour stops, featuring presentations of the Denomination through wine tastings from thirteen participating wineries, masterclasses for industry professionals and journalists, and dedicated events. Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, the sponsorship of IF Opera, a festival dedicated to Opera, is renewed, taking place from mid-August to early September at the prestigious Belcombe Court in Bradford-on-Avon.
Australia is an emerging market for the Denomination, ranking in the top ten most important export markets, with around 800 thousand bottles sold, totaling about 4 million Euros. After two years of successful activities in the country, the tour will expand to five cities this year, showcasing representative wines from thirteen wineries at each location.
The tour began on August 2nd in Sydney, followed by Melbourne on August 16th, Brisbane on August 23rd, Perth on October 4th, and concluding in Adelaide on October 9th. Each city will witness a precise format of events, including masterclasses conducted by renowned sparkling wine expert and award-winning journalist Tyson Stelzer. The tastings will be followed by specially designed menus, expertly paired with Conegliano Valdobbiadene, at selected renowned Italian restaurants.
Additionally, promotional activities to enhance the Denomination's recognition include an incoming visit for Australian journalists and professionals hosted in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area, offering a complete immersion in the unique territory that defines this region.
In the United Kingdom, during IF Opera, the Consortium sponsors the VIP area at the captivating Belcombe Court, adorned with a giant photograph of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills. Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG will be the official sparkling wine, adding sparkle to every show.
On August 24th and September 1st, a select group of English journalists and influencers will have the privilege to attend the opera Fedora's staging, preceded by a presentation of the Denomination's wines by Master of Wine Sarah Abbott, the Consortium's spokesperson in the United Kingdom.
Diego Tomasi, the Director, expresses pride in the intricate dynamics of their offerings for foreign markets, showcasing the Consortium's ability and that of their associated producers to seek captivating destinations. Their aim is to increase interest in Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG and reveal its diverse facets, presenting the types that best resonate with audiences in different countries.
