New York: Italy donates a hundred-year-old olive tree to the 'Future Ambassadors of Peace' of the UN

New York - The Permanent Italian Mission to the United Nations has donated a 125-year-old olive tree to the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York City, with the aim of inspiring future ambassadors of peace. The tree, a symbol of peace, was showcased at the "Growing Peace" exhibition in celebration of the centenary of the Italian Air Force. It was planted at the entrance of the UNIS campus, next to a statue of childhood, to convey a deep message about the importance of nurturing future generations with the values of peace. Officials from both the Italian Mission and UNIS were present at the ceremony, which was followed by a Q&A session with Italian Air Force pilots. The hope of the Italian Mission is that the donation will encourage future generations to pursue a more peaceful and harmonious world.
