UNITED KINGDOM - A school run with a colourful background this morning. A group of Royal Mail worker protesting next to the entrance of the offices in Mill Green Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, UK, made animated the early morning. Some members of the picket explained how Royal Mail is slashing 10000 jobs despite being heavily understaff. Only in Haywards Heath there are 22 rounds of mails undelivered, but the crisis is at national level.
I was also informed that Royal Mail is currently cutting the saturday delivery run in order to make savings. It is unclear how the accounts of the company has got to this stage after distributing just few months ago generous bonuses and dividends to shareholders. No matter what your position is on this matter, it is important to know that no government action is foreseen and obviously ripercussions are expected on Royal Mail delivery service during Christmas period.
