The title of this edition was "Italian and young people. How sorry? I don't follow you ", an alternative path to closely observe the forms and methods of communication of a highly digitized era.

SLIM opened last Monday with the constitutive assembly of the Association of Italian Language Teachers in China (AIILIC), which was attended by over thirty teachers of Italian in China, including readers of Italian in China sent by Farnesina, to the presence of the Head of the Consular Chancellery of the Embassy, Simone Panfili, and of the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, Federico Roberto Antonelli.

During the week, the Institute hosted a wide range of events, in particular the screening of some films in Italian with Chinese subtitles ("Flash" by Valerio Vaestoso, "They spit me in the milkshake" by Beppe Tufarolo and Carolina Cavalli, Lorenzo Vignolo's “Up & down”, Niccolò Castelli's “Atlas”) and a documentary on the establishment of the Accademia della Crusca (“The Italian factory”), as well as the inauguration of the “Italian Excellence. To crown SLIM, the Italian Embassy in Beijing and the Italian Cultural Institute have resumed the activities of the Saturday school of Italian language and culture, mainly intended for children and young people of the Italian community in Beijing, after a period of suspension linked to the pandemic.

All the initiatives of the Week of the Italian Language in the world recorded an important turnout of participants, with the presence of leading exponents from the world of culture and local academies and well-known Chinese and Italian influencers, confirming, as declared by the Ambassador of Italy in China, Luca Ferrari “the strong interest in China in Italian culture and language, even among the younger public”.
