US mission for Fedriga Governor of Friuli

TRIESTE - The Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, is on a mission to the United States this weekend where he was able to participate in the meetings organized in Washington (USA) by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy and by the Ambassador of Italy to the USA, Mariangela Zappia. But not only that, but the governor also attended a joint meeting with the delegation of the Tuscany Region led by President Eugenio Giani with the Italian consular representations present in the United States, the directors of the Italian cultural institutes and the heads of the ICE offices, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies. And finally, he was the guest of honour at the 47th Gala 2022 of the National Italian American Foundation (Niaf).

At the 47th Gala 2022 of the Niaf, the non-profit organization that promotes Italian-American culture and its heritage (and during which Tuscany was celebrated as the Region of Honor 2022, as the cradle of the Renaissance) governor Fedriga stated: "the important role played by Italian Americans in the development of the USA. Today Italian Americans are perfectly integrated into the social fabric of the United States, but this has been possible thanks to their commitment, determination, and will to build a better future for themselves and their families demonstrated by our compatriots who left in search of fortune. These people, who still feel the bond with their homeland, represent an excellent point of contact to consolidate relations between the USA and Friuli Venezia Giulia, and the Region is firmly committed to cooperating with the system of Chambers of Commerce abroad and all the organizations which promote friendship between our countries and Italian culture in order to open up new opportunities for our companies on international markets and attract new investments in the region ".

During the various appointments, the governor was accompanied by the Italian ambassador, Mariangela Zappia, with whom he had a cordial conversation.

The governor then met with representatives of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce and those of state-owned companies operating in the United States, concluding the agenda with digital and high-tech players potentially interested in investing in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

To all the interlocutors, the highest exponent of the Regional Council explained how the Region is committed to strengthening and implementing strategic policies aimed at encouraging the attraction of foreign investments in accordance with the vocations of the territory (directed in itself to research and innovation) and the internationalization of companies, above all to develop operational channels through which to promote settlement opportunities in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This also happens thanks to the coordination work of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces and the link between this, the individual Regions, and the central administrations within the trans-ministerial Committee for the Attraction of Foreign Investments (CAIE).
