The Italian Wine Fair in Brasilia with the Embassy

BRASILIA - The "Show of Italian wine in Brazil" begins today! This year will be divided into two events on an invitation basis and will be hosted in the Sala Nervi of the Embassy of Italy in Brasilia.

The first day opens with two exceptional lecturers, Felipe Galtaroça, founder of the consulting firm Ideal Consulting, and Diego Bertolini, creator of the EducaVinhos platform, who will talk about the wine market in Brazil and its connections with Italy. This will be followed by a tasting of Italian-Brazilian wines and sparkling wines, paired with imported Italian cheeses and sausages, with an in-depth booklet on the products offered and some classic local recipes that can be easily made by the Brazilian public.

The second evening will be dedicated to the tasting of Italian wines. 17 of the country's leading importers will offer 181 labels, paired with the increasingly award-winning Brazilian cheeses and cured meats.

As explained by Ambassador Francesco Azzarello, "the goal is to encourage the growth of wine culture in a country dominated by the taste for beer, where wine is not cathegorized as "food" under the legal profile and is therefore disproportionately taxed. One of the evenings of the Salone is also dedicated to the increasingly famous producers of the Italian-Brazilian community, the primary vehicle for local cultural dissemination in a sector with enormous potential for growth. Finally, we try to increasingly promote the food and wine pairing between Italian wines and Brazilian recipes and Italian-Brazilian wines and Italian recipes, an experiment started in 2021 and that aroused great interest and appreciation ".

On this occasion, the internationally renowned food and wine consultant of the Embassy, Sueli Maestri, will be awarded the honor of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy.
